The Swiss Re Tower Under Construction

The Swiss Re Tower, officially called "30, St. Mary Axe", still under construction, and the "Tower 42", formerly called the "NatWest Tower" basking side by side in the afternoon sun in August of 2002.
I especially like how the crane above looks like it is there to pull the Swiss Re Building up to its intended height. In reality, it is completely unrelated and belongs to the much closer construction site at that time of Moorhouse, located at the north-west corner of London Wall and Moorgate.
The silhouette of the buildings flanking an alleyway leading to Moorgate provided the perfectly fitting frame for the subject.
This view has become impossible to achieve any more, since a new, shiny building (hence the cranes in the picture) now blocks the view. Since this view of a new building in London has become unavailable, the picture curiously qualifies for both groups New London and Lost London.

Construction Pipeline Scam and Review
Construction
Contruction Pipeline Scam, or Not?
I have worked at construction pipeline for over 3 years. It really bothers me when I see people post bogus reviews about construction pipeline scams. We are a family ran business with real people that take great pride in their work. All of our competitors are plan centers or permit pushers that focus on public information that they sell. We actually spend hundred of man hours every week talking with general contractor trying to find opportunities for all of our clients. Do we make errors? Of course, we are human. But this is the most valuable aspect of our company, because we just don’t automate everything.
The way the internet effects publicity now a days, it really turns the focus of our company from something valuable, where someone can post a complaint somewhere and it gets undue attention. Construction Pipeline scam is a myth! The truth of the matter is, we do business with over 2,000 customers every month. Do we satisfy everyone? No. But what company can?
If a person were to actually study the construction pipeline scam myth, they would find that it is actually a small handful of people that are truly unhappy with the service that we provided them. Just like every person out there, we are family people too, working to take home a paycheck and support our wives’ and children. There is no construction pipeline scam.
We could do an experiment to really show people how the internet postings are for the most part fictitious. We have 50 employees. We could take the name of any company or person out there, and have everyone start posting complaints. They don’t have to be valid complaints, because most complaint sites just let you post whatever without any actual investigation of the facts. And then lets sit back and google your name or company. Scary, huh? Well, that mostly what our complaints are.
If a person were to really read construction pipeline scam and construction pipeline review they would find some horrific stories. Now I’ll be the first to admit, errors have occurred through out our 20 year history; things like billing errors ect.,, but the outlandish tales that you read are bogus.
Just like any business, we give a receipt with terms and conditions. Most of the people that have posted complaints are people that are actually in debt to our company. And when they get called about there debts, they start posting “construction pipeline scam” on construction pipeline reviews.
If you or any company or person out there really is interested enough in construction pipeline reviews and truly want to know about construction pipeline scam, then go to Dunn And Bradstreet. This will give you a real glimpse of our company. You can see our credit history along with our business endeavors. What you’ll find is a company that has near perfect credit, that has never had leans or holds and has a good track history of paying not only every vendor that we’ve done business with, but not one complaint from any of our employees that we’ve ever employed. Can these companies that write construction pipeline scam on their construction pipeline reviews say the same? 99% can’t!!!!

A construction project is a complex net of contracts and other legal obligations, each of which must be carefully considered. A contract is the exchange of a set of obligations between two or more parties, but it is not so simple a matter as trying to get the other side to agree to as much as possible in exchange for as little as possible. The time element in construction means that a delay costs money, and in cases of bottlenecks, the delay can be extremely expensive. Thus, the contracts must be designed to ensure that each side is capable of performing the obligations set out. Contracts that set out clear expectations and clear paths to accomplishing those expectations are far more likely to result in the project flowing smoothly, whereas poorly drafted contracts lead to confusion and collapse.
Legal advisors in the beginning of a construction project seek to identify ambiguities and other potential sources of trouble in the contract structure, and to present options for preventing problems. Throughout the process of the project, they work to avoid and resolve conflicts that arise. In each case, the lawyer facilitates an exchange of obligations that matches the reality of the project.

Residential construction practices, technologies, and resources must conform to local building authority regulations and codes of practice. Materials readily available in the area generally dictate the construction materials used (e.g. brick versus stone, versus timber). Cost of construction on a per square metre (or per square foot) basis for houses can vary dramatically based on site conditions, local regulations, economies of scale (custom designed homes are always more expensive to build) and the availability of skilled tradespeople. As residential (as well as all other types of construction) can generate a lot of waste, careful planning again is needed here.
The most popular method of residential construction in the United States is wood framed construction. As efficiency codes have come into effect in recent years, new construction technologies and methods have emerged. University Construction Management departments are on the cutting edge of the newest methods of construction intended to improve efficiency, performance and reduce construction waste.
A general contractor is a group or individual that contracts with another organization or individual (the owner) for the construction, renovation or demolition of a building, road or other structure. A general contractor is defined as such if it is the signatory as the builder of the prime construction contract for the project.
A general contractor is responsible for the means and methods to be used in the construction execution of the project in accordance with the contract documents. Said contract documents usually include the contract agreement including budget, the general and special conditions and the plans and specification of the project that are prepared by a design professional such as an architect.

Construction question by Rick C: Which construction company in Denver has ability and good reputation to rebuild my condo?
We are searching for a good construction company to rebuild (not remodel) our condo. The old building, 16 floors high , will be totally torn down and a new one should be build. Is there any good construction company?
We are in Denver Colorado.
Construction best answer:
Answer by krissyderic
There are so many great construction companies with good reputations in Denver.
Ask around…word of mouth is the best way to find any good company or product.
Ask at a Local Home Improvement Center.

I really like the framing on this one. Good job.
What a hit!!!,
I gave this as a gift to a boy five-years-old. He took it everywhere with him for weeks! He even took it to bed with him! He loved looking for the characters that re-appear throughout the book and seeing the weather change as well. This is a great book for any little boy!

|Great book for the family with a junior construction worker,
We bought this book for my son when he was nearly four years old since he was always fascinated by construction and construction equipment.
This book illustrates the construction process and gives kids a lot of visual detail to enjoy on (multiple) subsequent re-readings.
